The beginning of the new year provides an opportunity to take stock and make decisions to change behaviors and/or pursue new goals. For most of us, these resolutions will quickly be lost in the shuffle of our lives or become unattainable due to a variety of factors. One of the factors related to our ability to be successful in achieving our personal, group and institutional goals and resolutions is a Big Idea – ATTITUDE.

Since 2014, Digital Promise has partnered with the Wake County Public School System and Carroll Magnet Middle School to use the Challenge Based Learning (CBL) framework to support the core tenants of the school and district and prepare students to be successful in school and beyond.

Take a hard look at your school and local community, identify a Big idea (pollution, water quality, voting, communication, transportation, etc.) Use the CBL process to frame and challenge, deeply learn about it, and develop an app that solves the problem.
